22 Week Ultrasound

We had to go back for another ultrasound this afternoon to see if lil Joey moved so the tech could get a clear picture of his spine. This is the third time we've been in hopes that he had moved from laying on his back. This time Katie drank a Mountain Dew on the way to the appointment in hopes that would wake him up and get him moving. We were in the waiting room for 15 minutes or so and Katie could feel him kicking so of course we had to wait another 15 minutes before we were called back. Luckily as soon as the tech pulled Joey up on the screen he was flipped over and was laying curled up on his stomach. She was able to get all of the pictures she needed and confirmed that everything looked good. We were getting used to seeing him every couple of weeks but now we won't get to see him until he arrives in January. Here are the last few ultrasound pictures from our visit today. Some are tough to see but if you look closely you can see where his face is in all three pictures. 

His arm is in front of his face in this one you can even see his four fingers. 

Meridian Park

This week we went to Meridian Park which is just a few miles from the house. We've taken the dogs here since we moved to Loganville so we thought it was a good spot to take Katie's pictures this week. Here are a few of the pictures I took of Katie next to the pond!

I've also been taking pictures of Katie every week. Last week we went to a park near the house that has a really cool water shed and wood covered bridge. Here are a few pictures from the park. 

21 Week Appointment

All is well with Katie and Joey! Last appointment little man wouldn't cooperate when the ultrasound tech was trying to look at his spine. Katie was scheduled to return for a follow up ultrasound today to see if he moved at all so they could see the base of his spine. Well it turns out he didn't move but while we were waiting to see if he moved we were able to see him for quite a while.  Here are se pictures from our visit today. The third is my favorite he has his right hand on his forehead and his left elbow is visible with his left arm bent behind his head!

Boy or girl!?

We started off our afternoon at Katie's ultrasound. All is well with the baby and he is the length of a banana and weighs 10 oz! We had our gender reveal party at our house with all of our family there to share in the surprise! We had a great afternoon and night and couldn't be happier to welcome our son Joseph Daniel into the world in January!

We thought that we would create a blog to capture the moments of our growing family for all to see! We will post pictures beginning with Katie's pregnancy and continue throughout the life of our little one! Our first picture will of course be our first ultrasound taken on May 28, 2014!
